Lead Partner , Professor Alexandros Papachatzis and Project Manager of MED GREENHOUSES, Professor Nikolaos Katsoulas participated in the World Cyclical Economy Exhibition "ECOMONDO 2018, International Exhibition on Circular Economy", 5-8 / 11/2018, Rimini, Italy. This is the most important event in the field of cyclical economics and sustainable development, with exhibitors from around the world and all sectors related to the cyclical economy (waste management, renewable energy, water management etc) and events / parallel workshops.
The MED GREENHOUSES project team participated in an event organized by the INTERREG MED Communities, entitled "Empowering Territories for a Sustainable Mediterranean," on 6/11/2018. The Communication Manager of MED GREENHOUSES participated in the round table discussion held between Green Growth projects, with a talk on the MED GREENHOUSES project, the Sustainable Greenhouse Approach through the project, the engagement of the four-stranded operators and the expected results.
During the MED COMMUNITIES event, Prof. Nikolaos Katsoulas was member of the first liners, who posed questions to the panel. He also made a presentation of the Project, linked to the scope of the panel discussion. The first panel made a debriefing on the state-of-the-art of waste management and circular bioeconomy initiatives in sectors such as agro-food, manufacturing, energy production, transportation and tourism and answered questions such as: How can various actors overcome regional challenges such as marine litter? How can circular bioeconomy principles and approaches be used to construct the resilience of the MED territories facing climate change challenges?
Also, during the exhibition, the INTERREG MED Project Communities organized a showroom where the promotional material (brochures, etc.) was distributed. On 7/11/2018, a meeting of the projects that participated in the exhibition took place, where possible collaborations between the projects were discussed, while the audience of the exhibition could participate and ask questions to the representatives of the projects.
